‘Incredible’: Tyrone Mings lauds Aston Villa teammate after West Brom draw

Tyrone Mings has paid tribute to Wesley on Instagram following Aston Villa’s draw with West Brom on Sunday, labelling the striker’s comeback from injury incredible.

Wesley has endured an incredibly difficult time since arriving at Villa Park in 2019. He took a while to get going following his switch.

He had scored five goals before his first season was cut short due to injury in January 2020. Unfortunately, that injury kept him out a lot longer than seemingly expected initially.

that he was set to miss up to nine months. However, it proved to be more than 15 months before he made his return.

The Brazilian came on for the final moments of Sunday’s 2-2 draw with West Brom.

He was not on for long enough to make an impact. But hopefully he will be able to get back on the scoresheet before the end of the campaign.

It certainly appears that his teammates are desperate to see him get his career back on track.

In an emotional post on social media, Mings paid tribute to Wesley – noting how difficult it has been for the striker given that everything that is going on away from the pitch.

He wrote: ‘In a period where we haven’t provided the best results on the pitch it’s easy to be consumed in negativity. Result aside two major milestones for these two last night. To come back from injury is incredible. 480 days is one hell of a lonely road, but in the midst of a pandemic where you can’t be around family is a tough, tough journey and a huge achievement. first premier league goal is so deserved so let’s keep up the positive vibesss’.
