‘Incredible’ talent clocked as the Premier League’s fastest player this season, Newcastle reportedly want to sign him

If you’re asked to name the fastest player in the Premier League, there’s no way you’ll even think of a central defender like Antonio Rudiger.
The English top-flight is home to some of the quickest players in world football.
The likes of Dan James, Mo Salah, Allan Saint-Maximin, Gabriel Martinelli and Raheem Sterling are all rapid, but none of them holds the record for clocking the highest speed in the Premier League this season.
That accolade goes to a centre-half who Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing this summer.
Antonio Rudiger is the fastest player in the Premier League
revealed the five players who have clocked the highest speeds in the Premier League since the season began in August last year.
Much to our surprise, Rudiger, branded as ‘‘ by Timo Werner, sits above everyone else with a top speed of 36.7 km/h.
Mo Salah and ex-Wolves star Adama Traore are next on the list with 36.6 km/h while another defender in Ibrahima Konate ranks fourth with a top speed of 36.2 km/h, which is just rapid.
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Leicester City star Patson Daka rank next with a speed of 36.1 km/h.
Newcastle want to sign Antonio Rudiger
revealed just a few days ago that Newcastle United are ready to make a move for Rudiger at the end of this season.
The German only has a few months left on his contract and following the sanctions on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, the Blues cannot extend the defender’s contract until the club is sold.
Newcastle, who are now capable of offering incredible wages to players thanks to their owners, believe they can lure Rudiger away from Stamford Bridge in a few months’ time.
That would be an extraordinary signing but with other top clubs reportedly keen as well, it won’t be easy.
