‘Incredible footballer’: Coady names the player who’s really impressed him every time he’s played vs Everton

Everton loanee Conor Coady has paid tribute to his new captain Seamus Coleman, after sealing his move from Wolves.

Coady’s loan exit from Molineux has moved quickly and Everton have picked up a man who was the skipper at his parent club.

It is rare to sign another Premier League captain on a loan deal, and Coady will be working under Toffees’ skipper Seamus Coleman at Goodison Park.

Speaking to the after his arrival was confirmed, Coady paid tribute to Coleman and said he is looking forward to working with him.

“I’ve been lucky enough to captain Wolves,” said Coady.

“But I’m coming here under an incredible captain in Seamus, who I’ve spoken to a few times, and I’ve come up against him a lot of times.

“He’s an incredible footballer but an even better person.

“I’ll learn a lot off him, and hopefully help him a lot as well.”

Coady looks like an exceptional signing for Everton and it is a real surprise that Wolves have loaned out their captain and a man who has been so central to their journey.

He is a talker and leader, someone with huge Premier League experience, who should be able to bolster Everton’s backline considerably.

Coady has largely played in a back three at Wolves, and it remains to be seen if Frank Lampard will play that way to accommodate him or use him in a back four.
