‘Incredible’ Arsenal player will return to training tomorrow, he should be fit for Brentford
Mikel Arteta has now been handed a big fitness boost ahead of a few crucial upcoming Arsenal games, starting with Brentford on Saturday.
Although Arteta will have one eye on next Tuesday’s Champions League tie with FC Porto, he can ill afford his team to lose focus on the task at hand.

Given Liverpool host Manchester City on Sunday, Arsenal do have the chance to go top of the league if they beat Brentford.
Moreover, should their two rivals draw at Anfield the day after, they will remain in top spot given how much they’ve improved their goal difference of late.
All that being said, Arteta does have one or two selection calls to make with both Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey returning whilst the eleven already looks pretty settled.
Neither are accustomed to a spot on the bench, delineating Arteta’s positive problem.
But ahead of Brentford, Arteta will have been extremely pleased to hear a positive fitness update on Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.
According to , Saka is now ready to return to training on Friday after experiencing some illness during Monday’s game.
Mikel Arteta handed positive fitness update on Bukayo Saka ahead of Arsenal vs Brentford
Saka was said to be feeling ill in the lead up to the Sheffield United game but was determined to play.
But with the game won by half-time, it seemed a sensible decision for Arteta to withdraw his ‘incredible’ winger.

And although Brentford may be perceived as one of Arsenal’s easier ties right now given their poor form, it would be a surprise if Arteta decided to rest any of his other players, who shouldn’t be struggling with their fitness.
Perhaps Jorginho might drop out of the side for Gabriel Jesus, but that would surely be on a tactical basis.
But otherwise Arteta probably has little reason to change his starting side right now, especially as the schedule hasn’t been too demanding.
It might seem a shame to remove Kai Havertz from the false nine position on Saturday, heading deeper to the number eight, but Jesus is far too good to be sat on the bench.
That being said, former Arsenal icon Gilberto Silva has now shared his annoyance in regards to criticism Jesus has been receiving.
