‘Incorrect’: Journalist says Barcelona are paying up to £63.5m for Raphinha
Journalist Ben Jacobs has to suggest that Leeds United will actually receive a fee of around £63.5 million after finally agreeing a deal with Barcelona for Raphinha.
The end to the Raphinha saga looks to be in sight at long last. Of course, it has been Barca’s reluctance to meet Leeds’ asking price that appears to have held up a deal up until this stage.

Raphinha reportedly agreed a five-year deal with the Catalan giants towards the end of last season. But Leeds staying up threw a spanner in the works.
Had the Brazilian simply been desperate to leave Elland Road, he would have swiftly moved on when Chelsea agreed a fee with the Whites for the 25-year-old.

However, that was some time ago. And, as things stand, Raphinha remains at Leeds. That may soon change, with reports claiming that Barcelona have now agreed a fee with the Whites for the wide-man.
There have been concerns amongst the Leeds fans that Barca may land Raphinha on the cheap. But Jacobs has now suggested that Leeds are indeed getting their asking price.
The journalist insisted that reports Leeds are getting £50.8 million are incorrect. Instead, the fee is set to go close to £63.5 million…
Can confirm Leeds and Barcelona have finally reached an agreement this evening for Raphinha. My understanding is the €50 million + 10 fee is incorrect (Leeds rejected that offer quite some time ago) and the deal is actually worth close to €75 million.

Leeds to receive £63.5m for Raphinha from Barcelona
Leeds receiving £63.5 million for Raphinha from a club outside of the Premier League seems to be a really good piece of business for the Whites.
Of course, some will argue that he should cost even more. He has been the club’s talisman, particularly in the last 12 months.
But Raphinha is getting the move he clearly wants. Leeds are receiving the fee that they were holding out for. And the two will not meet in the Premier League this coming season.
Obviously, a deal still needs to get across the line. But the signs are promising.
