‘In the next few hours’: Romano shares transfer update on £85k-a-week Arsenal ace
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Arsenal defender Pablo Mari as he prepares to leave the Emirates.
The Gunners ace is surplus to Mikel Arteta’s requirements and his departure has been on the cards for some time.
Over the past few days, speculation linking Mari with an Arsenal exit has intensified.

Serie A duo Monza and Hellas Verona have reportedly been trying to sign the centre-back.
Now, it looks as though Monza have won the race for the Arsenal man.
Earlier on Wednesday, Romano confirmed that the Gunners and the Serie A newcomers had agreed a deal.
“It’s done,” he wrote on .
“Pablo Mari leaves on loan deal with obligation to buy if Monza will remain in Serie A.”
Now, Romano has provided a , which includes the financial aspects of the deal.
Monza will pay Arsenal around €5m (£4.3m) for Mari if they survive in the Italian top flight, he claimed.
The two clubs are preparing documents, while the 28-year-old is making his way to Italy to complete the move.
Mari joined Arsenal on loan from Flamengo in January 2020 before signing permanently in the summer.
However, the Spaniard has only made 22 senior appearances for the Gunners.
Mari is a solid player, but it looks as though there’s no room for him at the Emirates any more.
Therefore, a move away is very much the right solution for all parties.
