‘In last few hours’: Report says Manchester City have sanctioned £42.5m sale
that Manchester City are close to agreeing the exit of Ferran Torres to Barcelona in the ‘last few hours’. It is believed that the two parties are nearing an agreement over a transfer fee.
Torres, 21, has not played for Manchester City since a Carabao Cup win over Wycombe. A fractured foot has seen the Spain international sidelined for the last two months – and he might have even played his last game.
That is because a move to Barcelona is on the cards. The report claims that Torres and Barcelona have had a verbal agreement for some time now, and that a fee for Torres is close to being agreed.
City want a fee of £42.5million – and in the ‘last few hours’, the two parties are getting closer to working out a deal. Indeed, talks are ongoing in regards to how that fee will be paid – and over what kind of time scale.

Barcelona also need to free up some space on their wage bill, but a deal is edging closer and City are ready to sanction his sale. It comes, after Torres had scored 16 goals in 43 games for Manchester City.
Torres to Barcelona: Manchester City could be making a mistake
Torres is underrated. With City lacking in a striker other than Gabriel Jesus, the Spain international was scoring on a regular basis – even netting three in seven games this season.
At just 21, he is a proper talent. A wonderkid, in fact. His 12 goals in 22 Spain caps, already, is proof of that. So, are City making a mistake? Selling him for little over £40million to Barcelona? Without a doubt.
