Immobile would be a truly marquee January signing for title-chasing Liverpool
Liverpool are being linked with a move for Lazio striker Ciro Immobile.
, the Reds are to send scouts to watch the Italian in action against Napoli in Serie A this weekend.
The report claims that Chelsea are also interested in signing Immobile, but the Blues’ are supposedly on the verge of signing Gonzalo Higuain, putting Liverpool in a potentially strong position.

Immobile’s stock has soared over the past couple of seasons.
The hitman has been in prolific form since joining Lazio in 2016, plundering 41 goals in all competitions last term, and 26 in 2016/17.
He’s already bagged 13 this season, making it easy to understand Liverpool’s reported interest.
A title-winning signing?
If Liverpool were to successfully sign Immobile this month, then Manchester City should be running scared.
The prolific striker would provide the Reds with truly incredible depth.
Despite being able to boast players such as Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino, Jurgen Klopp’s tendency to play 4-2-3-1 this season would mean Immobile would surely start for the Reds.

Klopp would simply have to move Salah back out to the right wing, with Mane left and Firmino in behind Immobile.
Simply put, Immobile is the kind of marquee signing that could help Liverpool see off City and Tottenham Hotspur and claim their first Premier League title.
Having signed a new deal in October 2018, the 34-cap international would certainly not come cheap but his quality is undeniable.
