Gary Lineker suggests ‘imaginative’ coach whose never took charge of a Premier League game for Manchester United
Manchester United have made the big change and got rid of Erik ten Hag today and Gary Lineker has named a surprise contender for the job.
United relieved Ten Hag of his 🤪duties earlier in the day an🐷d now the quest is on to find a replacement for him.
There are suggestions United could go for former Barcelona manager Xavi, while TBR Football understands both Julia▨n Nagelsmann and Thomas Frank are on the list.
Of cours🍎e, there’s long been talk of Gareth Southgate being brought in but for now, that seems less likely.
And according to Gary Lineker, it’s another Englishman who United s🃏hould be considering.
Gary Lineker tips Lee Carsley for Manchester United job
Speaking on the latest episode of The Rest Is Football, former England striker Lineker suggested that current interim boss Lee Carsley was a man United should be considering.
“I’m going to throw in💝 a name here, and I think it would be very interesting, I think he’s clearly a brilliant coach,” Lin🍒eker said.
“A certain Lee Carsley, who they probably won’t think about, but he’s an imaginativღe coach who plays really attacking football. The players, from what I heard at England, thought he was really good, really interesting and th🌠oughtful on the game.
“The one thing he struggled with a little bit, I suppose, was the me🅘dia side of things.”
Carsley not experienced enough for Man United
Lineker is obviously just throwing names out there but he more or leꦚss answers his own suggestion here by bringing up Carsley and the media.
Managing Manchester United is the biggest job in the world and as well as getting it right on the field with tactics and pl🗹ayers, a lot rests on how you do off the pitch as well.
For Carsley, it’s 𒀰probably a bit t🐓oo early and it wouldn’t go down too well with the United fans either.
Carsley might well earn his stripes in the ▨coming seasons but for now, United need tried and tested and unfortunately for Carsley, that rules him out.
