‘I’m not sure’… 24-year-old player doesn’t have a future at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou

Japhet Tanganga has somehow found himself out on loan in the Championship.

Four years on from an incredibly promising Premier League debut, Tanganga has now dropped down to the second division, and it looks as though his time is up at Spurs.

Indeed, it’s very hard to come back into a big-six side’s plans after a spell out on loan in the second-tier at the age of 24.

Speaking on , Sami Mokbel has been discussing Tanganga’s long-term chances at Tottenham, and the journalist was brutal in his assessment that Tanganga doesn’t have a long-term future at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou.

Tanganga doesn’t have a long-term future

Mokbel spoke about the 24-year-old.

“You’re right, I’m not sure those players have a long-term future, certainly Tanganga and Djed Spence don’t have a long-term future at the club, certainly under Ange Postecoglou. Football is a business and if they think there’s a way to get more value on a player by them going on loan and then selling them on, they will do just that,” Mokbel said.

Not kicked on

This is incredibly frustrating because at one point, Tanganga looked like he could be a star for Spurs.

Those early appearances for the north London club were so promising, but injury issues and more competition being brought in at the back has left him out in the cold.

Sadly, Tanganga was unable to kick on from that initial promise he showed, and now, as he’s supposed to be entering his peak, he’s playing Championship football.

It’s no surprise to hear that Tanganga doesn’t have a long-term future with a club as ambitious as Tottenham, and we can only hope that he can still carve out a solid Premier League career for himself because there is a very talented player in there somewhere.

Tanganga may well be making a permanent move away from Spurs this summer.
