‘I’m interested’… Pundit thinks 22-year-old Celtic player could leave in the next 36 hours

As the transfer rumours start to gather pace today, all the talk has been about who Celtic will be looking to bring in before the Thursday deadline.

With only Nicholas Khun added to the Parkhead ranks, the fans are anxious to see what kind of business, if any, Brendan Rodgers is likely to do.

However, it seems that it’s not just the incomings the Celtic support need to worry about. According to pundit, Stephen McGinn, the Hoops should be anxious about losing Liel Abada before the end of the window.

McGinn said [], “It [transfer talk] has gained momentum in the previous 24 hours. I think you are starting to see that with David Turnbull and James McCarthy.

“I’m interested to see what happens with Liel Abada over the next couple of days. Will he stay, will he go?

“I think in terms of that wide position is Khun going to come in and play? What’s going to happen there?

“You would hope Liel Abada is comfortable enough to stay at Celtic because on his day he’s a top player.”

The Israeli winger has just returned from a long-term injury and it is obvious Celtic have missed him this season.

After signing a new deal in the summer, the expectations that Abada will kick on and improve this season where high, but the injury sustained on international duty put paid to that.

Abada has been an excellent signing for Celtic since joining two and a half years ago. With 110 appearances to his name, the 22-year-old has scored 29 goals and created 22 assists. []

The most memorable of his strikes have come against Rangers and that is another reason why the Celtic supporters will be keen for the club to hold onto him.

Will Abada move on in this window? I can’t see it. The summer may be a different question but I think Abada will still be a Celtic player come midnight Thursday.
