‘I’m in discussions’: Arsenal star confirms transfer talks, just five weeks after Arteta called him ‘terrific’

Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he is in discussions with multiple clubs over a transfer this summer.
The Frenchman joined the Gunners back in the summer of 2017 and he has been a key player for them. He has played 201 times for Arsenal over the years and has directly been involved in 107 games, which isn’t a bad record by any means, especially for a striker of his profile.
Lacazette has just a few months left on his contract now. It doesn’t look like Arsenal will extend his deal, which means he will have to consider his options ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman was asked about his future in an interview yesterday and he confirmed that transfer talks with multiple clubs have already begun.
Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette: I’m talking to many clubs
In an interview with , the Frenchman said about his future: “I am in discussions with a lot of clubs. I am open.”
Addressing rumours linking him with a return to Lyon, he said: “I have never cut contact with Lyon since I left. I try to return to the club once or twice a year to see the medical staff because we are really close. Lyon knows that I am free, they have come to the information.“
Asked If he’ll join Lyon even if they drop out of Europe, Lacazette said after a long silence: “It’s a bit more complicated.
“I want to play in Europe, it’s been a long time since I played in the Champions League, I’m missing it. It’s a little more complicated, nothing is impossible in life, but it’s a little more complicated.”

TBR View:
Lacazette, just five weeks ago, has had a mixed campaign at Arsenal so far.
As a striker, he is expected to score goals week in, week out, but that just hasn’t happened this season. He has scored just four times in the Premier League all campaign, which is a shocking return for a number nine.
However, the way he drops deep, links play up and works tirelessly when he’s on the pitch is one of the biggest reasons why Arsenal looked as good as they did in the first three months of this year.
It is very likely that Lacazette will move on at the end of this season and it will be interesting to see where he’ll end up.
