Gabby Agbonlahor has boldly claimed that he’s going to apply for the Leeds United job as he feels he’d do a better job than Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites suffered yet another defeat in the Premier League and this one was the worst of them all.

Bielsa’s men were battered 6-0 by Liverpool and the way the Argentine set his side out yesterday has angered Agbonlahor, who has had a real go at the Leeds United boss.

The ex-Aston Villa star spoke on about Bielsa’s future and he believes that the 66-year-old has to go.

Gabby Agbonlahor: I can do a better job than Bielsa at Leeds United

He : “I’ve seen Sunday League managers can have better tactical awareness than Marcelo Bielsa. There’s knowing the game inside/out isn’t there, but managing in the Premier League against top, top teams and you are going man-for-man.

“Look at the game yesterday. You are playing against one of the best teams in the world and you are going man-for-man. Honestly, if I was a Leeds player I would be on the phone to my agent after the game saying ‘he’s killing us’.”

Speaking about Bielsa’s successor, the former Premier League attacker : “I’ve got my coaching badges and I’d do a better job at Leeds at the moment.

“I’m going to apply for the job, I am. I’ll do a better job (than Bielsa) now. I’ll go to Liverpool and put in a better setup than he does.”

TBR View:

Leeds fans may have differing opinions about Marcelo Bielsa after their recent run of form, but we’re pretty sure no supporter would take Agbonlahor over the Argentine at Elland Road.

Bielsa’s reluctance to go with the exact same system against every side in the world has been questioned time and again. Their setup last night played into Liverpool’s hands and Jurgen Klopp’s side came out as convincing winners in the end.

However, to say that a Sunday League manager has better tactical awareness than one of the greatest football minds of this generation is just absurd, in our opinion.

It will be interesting to see if Bielsa can turn things around for Leeds in the coming weeks.
