‘I’m a big fan’: Theo Walcott says he just loves 21-year-old Arsenal youngster
Theo Walcott has lavished praise on Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, who has two goals at the World Cup for England.
Saka started England’s first two games of the tournament, netting a double against Iran before struggling versus the United States.
He was then dropped to the bench for Tuesday’s clash with Wales, and was an unused substitute as Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford found the net.
Speaking to , Walcott said that the 21-year-old should start against Senegal on Sunday night, despite the huge competition for places.

He said of Gareth Southgate’s options for Sunday’s huge game: “They’re all pushing each other and for a manager, that’s great. They all want to play.
“Marcus would have been disappointed not to start the first game, like any player. I’m a big fan of Saka. Massive fan.
“But now when you rotate the team and a player does that well, it’s very difficult to drop him. I like Saka massively. I’ve always been a big fan of him, so I would start Saka.
“He’s done nothing wrong at all. The tricky one would be Rashford and Foden – what a decision!”
Saka was basically on the other side of this equation during Euro 2020, when he went from a player a fair few expected to be omitted from the 26-man squad to an essential part of it.
On that occasion, it was Foden dropped after two group games and Saka who shone and moved ahead of him in the pecking order for the duration of the tournament.
Southgate faces a huge decision, but he almost cannot get it wrong because he is choosing between five in-form wingers who have all scored in Qatar.
