Illan Meslier and Jamie Shackleton laud Leeds starlet Pascal Struijk after draw
Both Illan Meslier and Jamie Shackleton lauded Pascal Struijk as the pair replied to the defender’s Instagram’s post following Leeds United’s draw with Chelsea on Saturday.
Struijk made a surprise return to the Whites lineup for the visit of Thomas Tuchel’s side. He had previously dropped out of the fold due to injury.
But with Liam Cooper ill and Robin Koch and Gaetano Berardi still making their way back from their own injuries, Struijk came back into the side to play alongside Diego Llorente.
And the pair enjoyed a superb afternoon as Leeds kept a clean sheet. Admittedly, the Whites rode their luck at times.
But they did not give many chances away, with Struijk shining once again.
When Struijk picked up his knock, it appeared that he may face a fight to get back into the side. With Koch returning soon, it seemed that the youngster was in danger of dropping to fourth choice.
But Struijk has reminded everyone of how good he can be. And he has set out the challenge to the likes of Koch and Cooper.
The starlet has taken to social media to comment on the result and the performance. And in response, the likes of Meslier and Shackleton were full of praise for their teammate.
