Tottenham Hotspur can soon begin taking stock as the Premier League grinds to a halt due to the World Cup.

And there’s a good chance that the Spurs hierarchy will want more ahead of the second half of the season.

Tottenham looked like potential dark horses for the Premier League title at the start of the campaign.

However, there have been far too many underwhelming displays and poor results over the past few months.

Tottenham are, of course, still in a great position when they return to action.

Spurs are in the top four of the Premier League and in the Champions League knockout stages.

However, they must do something to ensure they don’t slip further behind after the Qatar tournament.

According to , Tottenham are looking for reinforcements at right wing-back and up front.

The former is a seemingly obvious shout, due to Antonio Conte not being fully satisfied with his current options.

As for the latter, Tottenham have suffered quite a few injuries up front.

Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison have all picked up injuries which have cost Spurs.

One of the options 90Min claims Tottenham are looking at is Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz.

Ticks all the right boxes

He may not seem like a marquee signing, but he could be just for Spurs need in the second half of the season.

Brereton Diaz has shown he’s a cut above in the Championship and certainly seems ready for a step up.

He’s a versatile and prolific attacker, so he could step in to cover across the whole front line.

However, his main role is centre-forward, which means he’d be apt cover for Harry Kane.

For Brereton Diaz himself, he’d be going from a Championship club to a Champions League outfit.

This means that, in theory at least, he should be okay with biding his time to begin with.

As he’s 23, he’s got plenty of years ahead of him to develop further and perhaps lead the Spurs line one day.

And because Brereton Diaz’s contract expires in the summer, he should be fairly inexpensive for Tottenham.

If the 90Min rumour is true, Daniel Levy might just have an ‘‘ bargain lined up in the Chile international.
