If reports are true, Tottenham could now lose potential Conte dream signing to Guardiola – TBR View

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked wit🐽h RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol in recent months.

Back in March, there were reports 🌜suggesting Spurs boss Antonio Conte saw the 20-year-old as his ‘number o💙ne aim’ last summer.

And with the January transfer window on the horiz𝄹on, Tottenham are apparently still hoping to make a move.

Antonio Conte is reportedly a huge fan of Gvardiol, who has been sensational for Croatia at the 2022 W🥃orld Cup.

Indeed, it has been reported that the Tottenham boss urged Ivan Perisic to convince his countryman to join Spurs while at the tournament.

However, it looks as though Spurs may be up against it when it comes to seeing off fellow suitor💎s in pursuit of Gvardiol.

According to , Manchester City are apparently plottജing a ‘monstrous’ approach fo💖r the Tottenham target.

The jou🦩rnalist’s website – via  – claims they have already contacted RB Leipzig with a €130m (£11♑4m) proposal.

Pedulla claims Chelsea and Real Madrid hav🎐e tried their luck so far. However, City appear to have muscled in wi꧂th ‘monstrous’ finances.

In wake of th♏is approach, Tottenham’s Premier League rivals are now said to be in a ‘tight contract’ with Leipzig.

The Bundesliga club could seek to close the deal after the Worl♔d Cup and po🍌tentially keep Gvardiol until the end of the season.

Disappointing but not surprising

If this is true, Conte risks losing a top target to arguably one of the worst teams out 🍰there, as far as Tottenham are concerned.

Spurs really could do with bolstering their defensive ranks. And Gvardiol could well have a Virgil van 🎉Dijk-like effect on their back line.

However, if one of the stroꦯngꦬest teams in the league gets him instead, then they’ll just pull further away from the competition.

Admittedly, it’s not too surprising to hear that the biggest and richest clubs want Gvardiol. Consid♐er how well he has done at the World 𒈔Cup.

The 20-year-old helped his side to the semi-finals of the competition. He showed he’s one of the top defenders in the worlꦓd.

Fabrizio Romano previously Gvardiol “one of best🧸 talents in the w🥀orld in general and in his position probably the best talent in this moment”.

This is despite his young age, which begs the question… how good can he become in a f🔜ew years when he reaches his ceiling?
