If Danny Mills’ claim is true, Leeds may have a chance to sign Jack Harrison
Danny Mills claimed Pep Guardiola and Marcelo Bielsa are in contact every day earlier this week. If that is true, then Leeds United might just pull off one of the signings of the summer.
former Leeds defender Mills claimed Bielsa and Guardiola speak on the phone every day. He even spoke of an anecdote in which Bielsa ignored calls from the Manchester City boss as he was in a meeting.
“Pep is on the phone to him, pretty much every day. He had a meeting with the board of directors and had to put Pep on hold about five times,” as covered by The Boot Room on Wednesday morning.
It is clear the relationship is strong. There is certainly worse managers currently in British football for Bielsa to be in constant contact with – especially with City boasting an array of up-and-coming talent.
Leeds are on the verge of gaining promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2004. The club sit at the top with nine games to play, and a win against Sheffield United on Saturday would propel them towards the top.

They will need new signings in the summer and grabbing a couple of players from Guardiola’s City could help. But after his recent displays in a Leeds shirt, Bielsa has got to do his utmost to sign Jack Harrison permanently.
The former New York City star was in fine form once again on Tuesday night, building on his excellent outing against Bristol City at the weekend. He has been pivotal to Leeds’ return to form of late.
Harrison, 22, who earns a whopping £51,000 a week at Manchester City (), has played 30 times and scored crucial goals. One in the 2-0 win over Derby, the winner against Swansea and a late effort against Millwall.
If Leeds gain promotion, signing Harrison is paramount. He knows Bielsa’s style of play, fits it, and is capable of the step up. If Mills revelation about Bielsa and Guardiola is true, then Bielsa is best-placed to land Harrison beyond the summer.
