Idrissa Gueye comments on whether Liverpool star Sadio Mane would join PSG
Idrissa Gueye has told French outlet Canal+ – – that he does not know if Liverpool star Sadio Mane will join him at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and has not spoken with him about such a deal.
Mane, 27, has been in stunning form once again this season and the Senegal international is certainly a contender to win the Premier League Player of the Season award. He has had a hand in 30 goals during his 38 outings, scoring 18 and creating 12.
Back in December, France Football claimed – – that PSG saw Mane as the perfect replacement for Neymar should the Brazilian leave. Neymar is being linked with a return to Barcelona, and to Real Madrid.
Gueye, who played for Liverpool’s rivals Everton before joining PSG but is also Mane’s teammate at national team level, stated he had not spoke with Mane over a move to PSG – but did state that it could happen in the coming months.
“For Sadio Mane, we talk about it every year, we will have to see how it will happen and whether he wants to come to France and PSG,” Gueye said. “But I didn’t discuss it with him and I don’t know how it will happen.”

TBR’s view – Mane quickly becoming Liverpool’s best player
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah are all up there with some of the world’s best players in their positions – but certainly the most in-form of the lot, and perhaps the best right now, is Mane.
Goal after goal, Mane is producing the difference. Van Dijk is keeping the goals at bay at the back, while Henderson is controlling the midfield. But to provide the difference and actually score the goals, is the hardest task.
Mane is doing that at the moment. Losing him to PSG would be a catastrophic blow. He is irreplaceable.
