‘I’d want’: Danny Murphy says Liverpool have a midfielder who’s better than Kai Havertz

Liverpool play Arsenal this weekend, and these two teams are very evenly matched.

Indeed, it’s hard to separate these two teams, and even the player-for-player debates are tough 🅘to settle.

Is Mohamed Salah better than Bukayo Saka? Is Dominik Szoboszlai better than Martin Odegaard? Is Virgil van Dijk better than William Saliba? T🙈here are argumꦦents and cases to make on both sides of each of those arguments.

Speaking on , Danny Murphy has been playing a game where he’s had to choose between certain Arsenal and Liverpool players, and he’s picked one Reds midfielder ahead of Kai Havertz.

Murphy says that if he was picking his squad tomorrow, he’d absolutely want Ryan Gravenberch over Havertz.

Murphy would take Gravenberch over Havertz

The pundit shared his verdict on 💯these two players.

“Danny, Gravenberch or Havertz? H𓃲avertz is doing alright now,” Murphy was asked.

“Havertz is scoring now. Bu♚♔t if it was my squad for the season I’d want Gravenberch ahead of Havertz, he’s a proper midfielder,” Murphy said.

Different players

It’s hard to choose between these two because they’re ൲such different players.

As Murphy says, Gravenberch is a proper midfielder. He’s your archetypal numb꧑er eight who can do almost everything.

Meanwhile, Havertz has never really been able to find a position. He’s half a number nine, half a number 10 and a bit of a centr𒀰al midfield player at times too.

This season, Gravenberch h𓃲as been better than Havertz, it has to be said, but, as Murphy says, the German has been hitting some semblance of form recently, and if he continues to impro💝ve as he finds his feet at Arsenal, perhaps this debate will flip on its head again.

We’d tend to side with Murphy here, we’d have Gravenberch over Havertz in our team rig♑ht no꧙w, but it remains to be seen who the difference maker will be this weekend.
