‘I’d try’… Ian Holloway says he’d sign 31-year-old winger if he was Arsenal manager now
Ian Holloway has named Wilfried Zaha as a player he would sign if he was in charge of Arsenal right now.
Speaking on the , Holloway was discussing potential transfers ahead of the January transfer window, and he says that Zaha is a player he would absolutely be looking at if he was the manager of a top club.
As we all know, Zaha was brilliant in the Premier League for a long time before making a move to Turkey in the summer.
Zaha has shown in the Champions League this season that he still has what it takes to cut it at the top level, and Holloway says that he’d try and sign Zaha now if he was the Arsenal manager.

Arsenal should sign Zaha
Holloway gave his verdict on the attacker.
“I’ve got one, I would go for Wilfried Zaha if I was at the top of this division. He’s at Galatasaray, but if I was one of the big ones, if I was Arsenal maybe, I’d try and have him,” Holloway said.
Not needed
As much as we like Zaha as a player, it has to be said that he’s not necessarily needed at Arsenal right now.
With Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe all more than capable of playing that left wing role, Zaha wouldn’t get much of a look-in at the Emirates.
He’s capable of playing down the right flank too, but the fact that he’s not a left-footer means that he doesn’t necessarily suit that role of being Bukayo Saka’s backup.
Zaha would probably do a great job for a top Premier League side, and perhaps he’s someone a team like Newcastle or Aston Villa should look at, but, at the moment, he’s not necessarily one that Arsenal need.
