‘I’d been on to him’: Callum Wilson now says he’s been moaning at £12m Newcastle United player all week

Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson has admitted he was moaning at Kieran Trippier all week in the build-up to their win against Aston Villa.

The Magpies continued their rich vein of form yesterday with a fantastic 4-0 win at S💞t. James’ Park.

Eddie Howe’s side ♔have dominated a number of teaཧms since the international break.

Wilson scored from the penalty spot just before half-time, before doubling Newcastle’s lead with a close-rang🦩e header.

Joelinton and Miguel Almiron added goals of the🙈ir own shortly afterwards and ended the tie as aꦆ contest.

Few fans would have expected🔜 that to be a match whose outcome could potential decide who qualifies for the Champions League.

The 30-year-old forward was really pleased with his side after the match, but took time to me♌ntion one teammate in particular.

Wilson admitted he was moaning at Kieran Trippier all🗹 week to cross the ball to him during the match▨.

It c🔥ertainly paid off as Trippier found Wilson at the baꦐck post for Newcastle’s second goal.

“What a ball from Tripps (Kieran Trippier). He found me, I’d been on to h🍷im all week about crossing the ball to me, giving me an opportuni🅺ty to get my head on something.

“And yeah, thankfully I did that today.”

Southgate was watching the pair yesterday, and would have been impressed by th🅺eir link-up♔ play.

However, Wilson’s two goals and two assists were the main headline, and he was 🍸described as a ‘predator’ by Martin Keoღwn.

Trippier has been in phenomenal form for Newcastle this season, with Simon Jor🉐dan backing him to start for England.

His s﷽et pieces have caused havoc all season, and🅷 going forward his delivery into the box is fantastic.

However, 🌸he’s also contributed to Newcastle having the joint-best defensive record of the season.

That🌄 hasn’t ❀stopped Wilson moaning at Trippier in training to cross the ball to him more.

It ce💫rtainly paid off yesterday and the pair combined😼 for a wonderful goal.
