Ian Wright thinks Kane won’t catch Shearer after Tottenham brace
Ian Wright that Harry Kane is frightening in his current form for Tottenham Hotspur, but admitted that he still does not see the striker෴ catching Alan Shearer’s Premier League record.
Kane brought up another landmark this week. The Spurs talisman scored twice in a 5-0 win over Everton on Monda🅰y. The goals took the 28-year-old past Thierry Henry in the list of all-time scorers in the competitiꦓon.

Kane has been outstanding of late. He now has nine goals in all competitions since the turn of the year, including fiౠve in his last four in the top-flight.
And some of his finishes have evoked memories of the very best of Kane’s form. And the debate surrounding whether he will be the one to catch Shearer’s tally🍌 of 260 has started up again.

Kane is now 84 away. And, should he remain in the to♈p-flight, there looks to be every chance that he could overtake Shearer.
Wright was full of praise for Kane and his current form for Tottenham. And he did back him to score the 33 goals needed to pass Wayne Rooney. However, he suggested that he does not see Shearer’s recordജ being caught by him.
“Harry Kane, in that mood, is frightening,” .
“With⛦ Harry, I think he could catch Rooney. I don’t think he can catch Shearer. Shearer, deep down, he must b🌺e a bit nervous.”
Kane has amazing opportunity especially after upturn in Tottenham form
Kane is certainly likely to eat into the 84 goal deficit before the end of the campaign. On current form, he could probably double ꦜhis tally of 10 league goals before this season concludes.
With that in mind, he may need just under 20 goals a season for the next four years to overtake Shearer. That does not appear to be beyond him given the🌜 longevity he has already shown.
Obviously, Tottenham will hope that Kane continues to lead the line for them in the years to come. It will surely be a sign that Spurs a🦄re in a much better position if they still have him as he edges closer and closer to that record.
