Ian Wright suggests Burnley manager Sean Dyche as possible replacement for Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace
Ian Wright has told that Crystal Palace should consider Burnley manager Sean Dyche as Roy Hodgson’s replacement this summer. Wright claimed that Dyche wants to go up a level.
Hodgson has ended a four-year spell at Palace with possible retirement from football on the horizon for the 73-year-old gaffer. Palace, then, are on the lookout for a new boss ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
Many suitors have been suggested as Steve Parish begins his search. It is unlikely that Palace will wander far from these shores. That is, given their last attempt saw Frank de Boer sacked immediately after he started.
One main concern for an incoming manager will be the future of Wilfried Zaha. Reports earlier this week stated that Tottenham and Everton are interested in the £40million-rated star.
Dyche, meanwhile, continues to be linked with a move away from Burnley and to a club where he is given necessary backing to push into the top half of the table. He continues to work miracles at Burnley.

: “They do need stability, they can’t do what they tried to do with De Boer. They need someone with experience, but also someone that can take Palace to the next level.
“Sean Dyche, he would suit Palace and wants to go to another level in terms of how he wants to play. It is a tricky situation. I spoke to Steve [Parish], he said we’re all over what we’re doing, but that it is integral to who they get.”
TBR’s view – Dyche would be perfect for Palace this summer
Hodgson has stabilised Palace and given whoever comes in the perfect basis to go on and push for the top half, and Europe. Dyche can easily be that man. A manager that has reached the ceiling with Burnley.
He took Burnley into Europe, albeit the qualifying stages and he deserves a shot at a club that probably have bigger ambition. Palace would be the ideal next step for Dyche, especially with the position of Parish’s side right now.
