Ian Wright shares his score prediction for Man United vs Tottenham
This weekend’s clash between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur appears crucial for both teams, who haven’t quite enjoyed the start that they may have imagined.
Both Erik ten Hag and Ange Postecoglou were seeking a big improvement at their respective sides this season – not content with what was achieved last term.
Tottenham certainly made progress in Postecoglou’s first season, but not quite enough to satisfy their ambitious new manager.
On Ten Hag’s side, there was immediate pressure to improve at Man United this season, especially given the financial backing of his transfer plans over the summer.
That hasn’t happened, and lack of progress at Old Trafford was once again highlighted against FC Twente on Wednesday night.
United desperately need to improve, and they’ll get their chance to do so against Spurs on Sunday.
Ian Wright thinks Tottenham will come up short at Old Trafford
That being said, Ian Wright has shared his prediction for Sunday’s late kick off on the ‘’ podcast.
Wright was joined by a few United legends on the podcast, the likes of Gary Neville and Roy Keane, which may have factored into his prediction.

But either way, Wright predicted more disappointment for Arsenal’s north London rivals in Manchester, expecting a third loss of the season for Spurs.
Wright simply said: “I think United will beat them. Let’s go 2-1.”
The pundit stopped short of naming who might score those two United goals, but perhaps some may feel that Marcus Rashford could be on the cusp of some better form.
He didn’t score against Twente in the 1-1 draw, but Rashford’s general level of play was very strong, highlighted by an incredible ‘elastico’, a sign that his confidence is returning.
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher agree that United will win
In their own prediction, Neville and Jamie Carragher also thought that United would win – sharing a daming score prediction for Tottenham.
On Tottenham’s side of things, they’ll be hoping to go on a much better run domestically, believing that James Maddison’s brilliant performance against Brentford was a sign of things to come.
Neither Maddison or Rashford, who were both dropped by England for the Euros, have been at their best over the past six months or perhaps even longer.
But the duo are so integral to their respective sides, if they’re playing well then the overall performances seem to follow.
