Ian Wright predicts who will win the Champions League – Arsenal or Manchester City

The Champions League is the biggest trophy you can win at club level.

Arsenal, unfortunately, have never managed to do it over the years, while Manchester City broke their duck last season with a win over Inter Milan in the final.

Many feel Pep Guardiola‘s side are favourites this time around as well, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich the other clubs who could go all the way.

Arsenal, however, have a chance too, but club legend Ian Wright believes they will not win the Champions League this season because they’re not ruthless enough.

The pundit has predicted that Manchester City will retain the title.

He said on the latest episode of : “I think Man City are going to do it.”

When asked if Arsenal can win it, he replied: “I’d love Arsenal to win it. If we got there in the final with City, I’d feel more confident.

“You’ve got to be more ruthless with the chances. You’ve got to see games off so that you can relax in games. At the moment, we’re not taking those chances even though in the end we won the game.

“If we could take those chances, I’d be more confident going to places because we’re defending a lot better.”

Arsenal’s defence could help them win the Champions League

Arsenal haven’t been as entertaining as last season, but they have still had a very good campaign.

The Gunners are so good defensively. Not many teams break them down and many of the goals they’ve conceded this season are because of silly mistakes like the one against Liverpool.

Arsenal are definitely not the favourites to win the Champions League, but they are capable of beating any side. Yes, their finishing is an issue, but most teams they’ll face in Europe will not deploy a low block.

That should play into Arsenal’s hands, which means they definitely do have a chance of going all the way in the Champions League for the first time ever.
