Ian Wright makes ‘major’ Myles Lewis-Skelly claim after Arsenal beat Leicester City
After Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League, it was Mikel Merino and Ethan Nwaneri who stole the headlines.
Nwaneri was Arsenal’s Player of the Match and deservedly so, but t🌱he award could have easily been handed to Merino🐭, too.
Merino was highlighted as an Arsenal strikeಌr solution in wake of Kai 𓃲Havertz’s injury, and the Spaniard demonstrated all of his creden🍎tials off of the bench at the King Power Stadium.
In his 20 minute or so cameo, Merino linked the play, wa🍎s a threat in the air and also finished his chance at the back post superbly.
Of course, Nwaneri was also integral to those efforts, who has done a remarkable job of replacin🐬g Bukayo Saka thus far.
However, Arsenal perhaps wouldn’t have been in a position to win the game were it not for fellow youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Speaking on after Saturday’s win, Arsenal legend Ian Wright was quick to point out Lewis-Skelly’s ‘unbelievable’ contribution ꦆat the back in the s🍎econd half.
Arsenal were exposed by a poor Thomas Partey pass, and when Leicester forward Bobby Decoꦜrdova-Reid was on hand to tap the ball in at the far post to put the hosts 1-0 up, Lewis-Skelly had other ideas.
Recalling the moment, Wright said: “Unbel♉ievable. M💧assive, you know, Thomas Partey I don’t know – his pass was really so flippant there.
“But you see, he [Lewis-Skelly] kind of gets his foot stuck and then he gets anothe꧒r little touch but it’s the luck, it’s the luck you need at this st༒age.
“Look you get your foot stuck and then he digs it out, bam, he’s [Decordova-Reid] getting ready to tap that in so tꩵhat is major us in winning this game. Major.”

It was a g𒅌ame of fine margins, but fortunately for Mikel Arteta his side were able to grab all t🐲hree points.
Ruud van Nistelrooy refused to call Arsenal lucky after the game, even if he did seem to﷽ t🌠hink that his side were worth a draw at least.
As me🎃nt𓆉ioned, Leicester could have gone ahead were it not for Lewis-Skelly’s superb intervention.
But Arsenal have maintained pace with Liverpool, and an attacking trio of Leandro Tꦐrossard, Merino and Nwaneri might still have legs in t🌄he title-race.
