Ian Wright delivers his verdict on Aston Villa signing Marcus Rashford from Man United with warning given

Marcus Rashford was perhaps the biggest-name player to move in the January transfer window as the Manchester United ace joined Aston Villa on loan.

Rashford wanted to leave Manchester United in January, making that🧸 abundantly clearꦏ during an interview with Henry Winter, and while he left it late, he finally got his move towards the end of the window.

AC Milan wanted Rashford at one point, while Rashford wanted to sign for Barcelona, but, in the end, it was Aston Villa who signed the England international.

The pundit, on the whole thought that this 🥀was a good move for Rashford, claiming that he’s joining a team in a better position than Ma🍬nchester United.

However, Wright warned Rashford that he can’t afford to stutter at Villa in the same way Raheem Stering has at Arsenal after the £50m man joined ༒the Gunners on loan in similar circumstances in the summer.

“I don’t think it’s a gamble. In all seriousness I think it’s a very good move to a team that, if we’re being totally honest, are doing better than the team he’s just left. He can go into a team that’s✃ playing well with fans to give him that boost. What you don’t want is to get there and stutter like Sterling at Arsenal. You hope he goes to Villa and he finds something that we’ve been waiting for him to find,” Wright said.

Wri🃏ght warned Rashford ab🙈out having a loan spell similar to Sterling’s at Arsenal, but there may not be much danger of that happening.

Indeed, while Rashfor🍌d has been criticised recently for his💧 form, he’s still some way off being at Sterling’s sort of level.

Rashford still has plenty left in t✨he tank, and, unlike Sterling at Arsenal, 🐟he should be offered plenty of first-team starting opportunities at Aston Villa.
