Ian Wright and Alex Mowatt rave about Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips
Leeds United returned to winning ways after beating Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park with summer addition Raphinha firing home a late winner.
Kalvin Phillips claimed the Sky Sports Man of the Match and the England defender was once again a standout performer for the Whites.
The 24-year-old has adapted well to life in the Premier League and on current form, he could make Gareth Southgate’s squad for the European Championships next summer.
Following yesterday’s superb performance and victory, the midfield lynchpin earned some praise from Arsenal legend Ian Wright and former Leeds youngster Alex Mowatt.
Wright became glued to Leeds games last season when Eddie Nketiah went on loan to Elland Road – and he had some very high praise indeed for Phillips yesterday.
Phillips is one of the Premier League’s exceptional talents and it would seem as though he’s been destined to play in the top flight for many years.
Leeds have 14 points from their opening 10 games of the campaign and look well on course for a respectable season.
Yesterday was the second time in succession they’ve kept a clean sheet and the Marcelo Bielsa style which has served them so well looks tailor-made for the Premier League.
Wright is still clearly fond of the Leeds United ace and his comments suggest that Phillips was his star man too.

Mowatt burst onto the Elland Road scene at the same time to Phillips and is now plying his trade with Barnsley in the Championship.
Leeds are next in action when they renew their rivalry with Frank Lampard and travel to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
They will hope Phillips is in fine form once again as Leeds go in search of another seriously impressive victory.
