Ian Rush and Liverpool players react as Reds make Monday announcement

a new long-term contract to stay at Anfield this summer. The highly-rated left-back was impressive for the club’s Under-23 side last season and will not be hoping for a chance in the first team. Ian Rush and plenty of other Liverpool stars responded.

Beck, 18, made his place in Liverpool’s Under-23 side a firm one last term. Despite still being incredibly young, the Wales Under-21 ace clocked up 19 Premier League 2 appearances for the Reds. In that time, he even had a hand in six goals – scoring one and creating five more.

Three of those assists came during a 4-3 defeat to Tottenham, with Beck creating goals for Liam Millar, Jack Bearne and Tyler Morton. Now, he has confirmed with a post on Instagram that he has signed a new deal following the announcement from Liverpool. It is unclear how long the deal is.

What have Rush and other Liverpool players said about Beck and his new deal?

Ahead of him in the Liverpool first team are Andy Robertson and Konstantinos Tsimikas. But his pathway into the senior side has been helped by the exit of Yasser Larouci. Neco Williams can play on either side of the defence but he is also being linked with the exit door this summer.

Beck was the subject of praise after his new deal from Liverpool legend Rush, who is his great uncle. Not only did he gain praise from the Wales icon, but Beck was also applauded by plenty of young Liverpool stars including Harvey Elliot.
