Ian Holloway says he’d have liked to have been considered by Sheffield Wednesday
Former Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has said he’d have liked to have been considered for the vacant Sheffield Wednesday job,
Holloway managed in the Premier League with the Tangerines but he hasn’t heard from the Owls, before offering his verdict on whether Lincoln’s Danny Cowley would make the jump.
He : “It’s about whether they think they’ve taken the club as far as they can and whether Sheffield Wednesday can give them that extra bit of impetus in their careers.
“It’s a wonderful football club. The people of that city are fantastic, they love their football. I really like Wednesday’s squad, I love Barry Bannan, and I’m obviously a bit gutted I wasn’t considered.”
TBR’s View – Cowley’s still have unfinished business with Lincoln
Sheffield Wednesday are a bigger club than Lincoln but all the conditions are in place at the League One club for the Cowleys to continue their rise.
Wednesday are in a state of flux at the moment and Cowley would only need to look at Nathan Jones at Stoke to see how leaving a third tier high-flier for an immediate Championship move can turn sour.
It would be a real coup for Wednesday if they can get the brothers through the door, however.
