Ian Harte takes aim at Gabriel Agbonlahor as Leeds secure top-half finish
Ian Harte has taken aim at Gabriel Agbonlahor on Twitter after Leeds United secured a top-half finish in the Premier League following Tuesday evening’s 2-0 win over Southampton – with Aston Villa now unable to finish above Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Agbonlahor antagonised Leeds fans earlier in the season when he labelled Marcelo Bielsa a “myth” and constantly criticised the Whites. On social media, he celebrated Leeds defeats on numerous occasions – despite Leeds beating Villa 3-0 at Villa Park.
The criticism of Leeds has dried up, with Villa falling into the bottom half of the Premier League table – the injury to Jack Grealish seemingly affecting Dean Smith’s side. Leeds, meanwhile, are the most in-form team over the last 10 league games.
Three consecutive wins has seen Leeds climb into eighth in the Premier League table – leapfrogging Arsenal and Everton. With Villa boasting two games to play, they are seven points behind Leeds in 11th – and Harte has teased Agbonlahor on Twitter.
Brilliant result for tonight I was just wondering what Gabby Agbonlahor thinks of Leeds now!!! 🤣 we’re are Villa in the table 🤫

TBR’s view – Bielsa proves why he was voted in top three
Question marks were made when Bielsa was voted alongside Hansi Flick and Jurgen Klopp in FIFA’s The Best awards in 2020 – prompting mass question marks from Agbonlahor and plenty more. But he has since shown just why he deserves that accolade.
But to take this Leeds side, one that still boasts the majority of players that only managed to finish in mid-table under Paul Heckingbottom in the Championship, into eighth in the Premier League – with just a few signings here and there.
He is a genius, a legend among Leeds fans, and the Whites are still growing.
