Ian Harte labels FA decision regarding Aston Villa ‘a disgrace’

Leeds United fans have been left incensed this week after the news Conor Hourihane will not be punished, despite appearing to gut-check Mateusz Klich at the weekend. The FA has charged Patrick Bamford with deceiving an official and he will likely be banned for the next two games. Anwar El Ghazi, who was sent off for his altercation with Bamford, has had his red card rescinded.

Hourihane, however, is a lucky boy. Video footage appeared to clearly show the Irishman hit Klich in the stomach. However, a panel of three found the evidence inconclusive,

It certainly left one former Leeds player perplexed. Ian Harte took to Twitter to highlight what he felt was double standards from the FA:

Leeds fans do feel their club is often harshly treated. A similar incident involving Brentford earlier in the season saw Sergi Canos go unpunished for what looked like a headbutt. Meanwhile, Pontus Jansson was banned for his honest assessment of the officiating after the game.

Leeds fans fully accept that Bamford deserves his ban for simulation. But they clearly just want parity. Hourihane got away with one here and it is clear why Leeds United fans feel unfairly treated.
