‘I wouldn’t’… Ally McCoist disagrees with what Jeff Stelling has said about 24-year-old Arsenal player
After a summer of well planned spending in the transfer market, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now repeating the rewards sat top of the league.
However, speaking on this morning, Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling have now slightly disagreed over the merits of one move.

The pair were discussing the transfer of Declan Rice, a ‘tremendous’ player in McCoist’s own words.
However, with Stelling labelling Rice a bargain and at , McCoist didn’t quite agree.
: “Oh he’s a great player, no doubt about it.
“I wouldn’t go as far Jeff as to say he’s a bargain at £105m, however, what I would say is it looks as though it’s a lot of money very well spent.
“Rice is tremendous, I mean I think in that England midfield Rice and Bellingham it’s remarkable what England could achieve.”
Of course, at that level of price it does become difficult to justify any move, however when compared to the prices today, many will side with Jeff Stelling on this one.
Rice has proved to be a transformative signing for Arsenal, a player who has improved so many players around him.
Ally McCoist isn’t convinced that Declan Rice was a bargain transfer for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta
Given their success signing a world-class player like Rice, it’ll be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta and Arsenal approach the coming transfer windows.
The general feeling seems to be that Arsenal will be quiet in January, with summer moves again taking priority.

Arsenal had a lot of success with their methodical planning last summer – something they are unlikely to abandon thus.
Although, the club will be ready to react to ever-changing situations, such as the sudden availability of one of their strikers.
Should Arsenal receive an offer for the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe or Aaron Ramsdale, it’ll be interesting to see how they react.
There’s certainly opportunities for Mikel Arteta to improve his Arsenal side in the transfer window, but January rarely extracts good value.
And perhaps the club would be well advised to hold tight and prepare for a quite extraordinary transfer next summer.
