Pundit says club insider has told him what ‘people don’t understand’ about what’s happened at Liverpool recently
Liverpool begin the Arne Slot era today with a tough away test at newly promoted Ipswich Town.
The Reds go into the game with no new signings to show and the pressure immediately on Slot to show he can be the man to lead the post Jurgen Klopp era.
Of course, Klopp’s exit has shook the club and Slot knows it’s a huge task for him and his staff.
Klopp has taken some key backroom staff with him, while Slot has been allowed to bring in his own team.
However, speaking about the upheaval at Anfield, former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley has revealed that a former Liverpool employee has explained to him that the changes are bigger than imagined.

Liverpool backroom changes are much bigger than some think
Speaking on the about Liverpool’s changes this summer, Burley said he’d been speaking to someone this summer who has laid bare the full scale of that change.
“I was talking to somebody at Liverpool in the summer who I met at an airport. He was just one of those guys unlucky on his day he bumped into me at an airport,” Hutchison said.
“He introduced himself. He was a backroom staff member from a few years ago and he said, look, what people don’t understand, it’s not just Jurgen Klopp and one or two of his assistants that are leaving, over the past six months to 12 months, there has been a number of backroom changes and staff have left.
“So it’s not quite a clean sweep, but there are some big changes there.”
Liverpool will have no time to adapt
While Arne Slot will get time to implement his own way of working and make a mark, as a football team, they don’t have time to adapt and stutter.
Ultimately, if the Reds want to win things they need to come flying out of the blocks and beat Ipswich.
From there, they simply need to keep winning as we all know the likes of Man City and Arsenal will continue to put in big performances.
Slot, then, knows what’s required and he’ll be hoping for a big early boost today.
