‘I think that’: Antonio Conte and Jamie Carragher say the same thing about Arsenal’s top-four chances

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte and Jamie Carragher have both claimed that Arsenal are the favourites to finish in the top-four this season.

The race for the Champions League spots is heating up and many believe that Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are guaranteed to finish in the top three places in the Premier League.

That leaves the fourth spot up for grabs with Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham all battling for the same position.

Arsenal are currently fourth in the table, a point ahead of the Red Devils with three games in hand over them. The Gunners are also six points clear of Spurs and have played a game less than them. That makes them the favourites and Conte and Carragher agree as well.

Antonio Conte and Jamie Carragher: Arsenal are favourites to finish fourth

Speaking on yesterday, Carragher said when asked who’s the favourite to finish fourth: “Probably Arsenal actually, but they have got United at home and I’d actually fancy Arsenal to win that game.

“If they beat United at home with the games in hand they have got, then they probably should get over the line.”

In his press conference today, Conte agreed that it’s in the Gunners’ hands.

He said, as per : “I think that in this moment, Arsenal seems favourite for fourth place and United.”

With the way the table is looking at the moment, it really does feel like the fourth spot is Arsenal’s to lose.

The Gunners have played fewer games than all the teams around them. They are in fantastic form as well, having dropped just four points since the second week of December.

Mikel Arteta’s side should back themselves to get there but they have a few really difficult games coming up. Arsenal take on Liverpool tomorrow night, while they still have to play Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs.

If they come out of those fixtures in decent shape, they should be able to get over the line quite comfortably.
