‘I think’: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink now predicts his Premier League top four this season, makes two shock exclusions
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has now predicted his Premier League top four this season and it looks set to be a tough battle between Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
The former striker was speaking after Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal today and has surprisingly left Arsenal and Spurs out.
The Chelsea legend was joined by fellow pundits Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Paul Merson on .
The four were asked who would finish higher this season out of United and Arsenal, but the topic quickly changed to who would finish in the top four this season.
And Hasselbaink thinks Chelsea and United will get into the Champions League places ahead of the Gunners and Antonio Conte’s men.
Hasselbaink predicts top four
”I think United will find a way of playing, they can’t keep on playing the way they are playing [today] the whole season,” .
“They need to improve. But I think that they will get above Arsenal.
“I think Chelsea will get in the top four, with Man United, [Manchester] City and Liverpool.
Neville then asked: “Tottenham don’t?”
Hasselbaink: “Tottenham don’t.”
It may come as a surprise to see Hasselbaink rule out both North London clubs after their brilliant starts to the season.
Despite the fact Arteta’s men fell to a disappointing defeat against United today, they still sit top of the Premier League.
And Spurs remain unbeaten under Antonio Conte this season after beating Fulham yesterday.
Whereas Chelsea have had a mixed start to their campaign under Thomas Tuchel as they have fallen to two disappointing defeats already.
United have certainly picked up form as they have won their last four games, but question marks remain over their two defeats at the start of the season.
It’s already close between the four sides and it will certainly be an intriguing battle as the season goes on.
