‘I think he should’: Darren Ambrose tips Graham Potter to take over at Tottenham
It feels like we’re back in the summer already, as Tottenham consider replacing Nuno Espirito Santo and a number of candidates to replace him, including Antonio Conte and Graham Potter, get a mention.
The reported late last night Tottenham were having talks over the future of Santo. Since then, it’s emerged that his position is on seriously rocky ground, and that Spurs could indeed sack him.
Antonio Conte is the name being thrown about in the main. claims the Italian could accept the Tottenham job, just months after rejecting it.

However, speaking for today, former Premier League midfielder Darren Ambrose believes that Brighton boss, Graham Potter, would take the job if offered it.
“I do yeah. I think he would leave. I think he should, if he had the opportunity, to got to Spurs,” Ambrose .
“I just think Spurs are a bigger club than Brighton. Find me anyone that says Spurs aren’t a bigger club than Brighton. Financially he’ll be better off, let’s be honest, money talks. Spurs are perceived to be a big club, whereas Brighton aren’t. The stadium is fantastic. They need to be more ambitious.
“If they do want to try and bring back the ‘Spurs way’ and get rid of Nuno, then there’s no one better than Graham Potter at the moment.”
TBR’s View: Potter to Tottenham might work but he’d need time
It’s all well and good going for Graham Potter if you’re Tottenham. He’s a great manager and has done very well with Brighton.
But again, you’re talking about a manager who needs time. Time to implement his ideas, get the squad working as he wants, and a few transfer windows to implement those changes. At the moment, it feels like Spurs need a more quick fix type manager.
Ambrose is right that Potter would be great. But for Tottenham, they need an immediate impact and Antonio Conte is probably more suited to that.
