‘I remember some other comments’: Daniel Farke comments on Leeds following Norwich win
Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has spoken about Leeds United while on the subject of his side’s Championship promotion charge.
The Canaries are currently top of the table on 73 points from 34 games played, 10 points clear of second-placed Brentford.
Last year, Leeds were on 62 points after 34 games played, and their 1-0 win over Reading had them in second, four points behind West Brom.

Norwich saw off their nearest challengers on Wednesday, Emiliano Buendia scoring the only goal of the game against the Bees at Carrow Road.
Speaking after the game, Farke brushed off Thomas Frank’s claim that Norwich can already plan for the Premier League.
“It doesn’t matter what he says. It is not a guarantee,” Farke told the .
“I remember some other comments that Leeds were the outstanding team last season and everyone else was playing for position two.
“Now we are 11 points clear of Leeds at the same stage. We know we are in a great position. To have 73 points at this stage is fantastic.
“We are also seven points better off than two years ago. That is outstanding but there is no guarantee the final 12 games work in our favour as well.
“We have to win some more points to achieve what we want.”
TBR View:
While Farke is right to downplay any talk of promotion being secure, his comparison between where Leeds were after 34 games in comparison to where Norwich are now seems unnecessary.
Leeds did superbly to pull away in the latter stages of the season and seal the title, while Norwich, to their credit, have done enough to establish a sizeable gap at this stage.
But the only thing that matters is where you are after 46 games – again, credit to Farke for brushing off Frank’s comments on promotion effectively being achieved.
