‘I really like him’: Owen Hargreaves says Leeds have a ‘fantastic young player’ who’s absolutely rapid
Brenden Aaronson set Leeds United on course to stun Chelsea 3-0 at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.
The American international was Leeds’ first signing of the summer and he is already proving his worth in the Premier League.
The Whites are unbeaten and flying high under Jesse Marsch, and Sunday’s win was the best result of his tenure at the club.
Speaking to , former England international Owen Hargreaves shared what a huge fan he is of the midfielder.
Hargreaves praises Aaronson
He said: “I really like him. He’s a fantastic young player and his work ethic is impressive.
“They play with high energy and intensity and you could see that right from the off.
“Mendy is an amazing goalie but he got surprised by the speed of Aaronsson, then you have Dan James, Harrison and Rodrigo – they have so many good players in that side that they are going to be a threat.
“They’re going to be hard to play against.”
Marsch guided Leeds to survival on the final day of last season and now we are starting to see his ideas with a full season behind him.
Aaronson has been key to helping Marsch move towards his own philosophy as he shapes the squad Marcelo Bielsa built to his own demands.
The midfielder has taken next to no time to adjust to the pace of life in the Premier League and Leeds will be looking to keep this impressive forward momentum going for as long as they possibly can.
