‘I really like him’: Klopp says he absolutely loves attacker Spurs are reportedly trying to sign for free
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic and Jurgen Klopp has now claimed that he’s a big fan of the Croatian.
Spurs tried extremely hard to sign multiple players in the January transfer window. They were linked with a whole host of names, but they could only complete deals for Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur in the end.
One player they really wanted to sign for a bargain fee was Perisic. reported last month that Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea had all shown interest in the versatile attacker, who turned 33 two weeks ago.
He entered the final six months of his contract at Inter at the turn of the year and he would’ve been available for a cut-price fee in January, but a deal could not be struck.
Jurgen Klopp really likes Tottenham-linked Ivan Perisic
Perisic spent a couple of years at Borussia Dortmund back when Jurgen Klopp was the manager there.
He was absolutely brilliant under the German and Klopp has now revealed that he’s still a massive fan of the 33-year-old Croatian attacker.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan, Klopp : “I am really looking forward to seeing Ivan Perisic.
“I really like him. We won the double together.”
Conte could sign him for free
Conte knows Perisic very well thanks to their time together at Inter Milan. The Croatian would fit in really well under the Tottenham boss, which is why he’s prepared to join Spurs on a free transfer.
reported in December that Perisic’s first preference when his deal expires in the summer is to join Conte at Tottenham. It was claimed that the two would ’embrace’ a reunion and the fact that he’d be a free agent makes him a really attractive option.
also revealed two months ago that Tottenham and Perisic had entered talks over a potential deal and it really wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Croatian don Spurs’ colours to play under Conte in the Premier League next season.
