Brazil hammered four past Bolivia in their World Cup qualifiers late last night and Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes and Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta were the stars of the show.

The Selecao, as they always are, will be the team to watch in the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

A brace from Richarlison and goals from Guimaraes and Paqueta gave Brazil a convincing 4-0 win last night and they now sit pretty at the top of the South American World Cup qualifiers table, six points clear of their fierce rivals Argentina.

Newcastle fans should be really happy with Guimaraes’ display and his connection with Paqueta should raise the excitement level as well.

Bruno Guimaraes sends message to Newcastle target Lucas Paqueta

Paqueta opened the scoring for Brazil against Bolivia last night after a brilliant through ball from Guimaraes. The Lyon man’s composure in front of goal was excellent too.

Both Paqueta and Guimaraes continued to dominate the game and 21 minutes into the second half, the former returned the favour with a brilliant chipped assist.

Guimaraes volleyed the ball home in style and the two Brazilians completely deserve all the plaudits they’re getting.

After the game, Guimaraes sent Paqueta a message saying: “The bow and arrow! It’s always been like this. I love you, brother!”

A Brazilian reunion at St James’ Park?

It is no secret at this point that Paqueta and Guimaraes are good mates. They were brilliant together for Lyon and if reports are to be believed, they could form a partnership at Newcastle as well.

revealed a few months ago that the Magpies had tabled a £34 million bid to sign Paqueta. That move didn’t materialise in the January transfer window, but there is hope for the summer.

Earlier this month, Paqueta travelled all the way to Tyneside to watch his good pal Guimaraes in action against Southampton at St James’ Park.

If Newcastle make another move for Paqueta this summer, there’s a good chance it will happen, especially if Guimaraes asks him to make the switch.
