‘I lost a fair bit of weight’: Liverpool player says he’s shed a lot of pounds this summer, fitter than ever
Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott says he has lost weight ahead of the new season with his summer training programme.
Elliott told the that he was working hard before Liverpool even came back to pre-season training.
He wanted to return in the best possible condition after a campaign last time around which was interrupted by a serious injury.
And he hit the weight target he set for himself, for the second consecutive season, setting the tone for what is to come.

Liverpool star Elliott says he has lost weight
“I’ve just got to prove myself to the manager and put myself in the best possible position to get minutes,” Elliott said.
“I’m enjoying my football again and it’s my dream to be able to put on the shirt for this club.
“I did a bit more in terms of fitness work this summer to ensure I was in the best possible position coming back.
“I lost a fair bit of weight in the off-season. I had a target last season, which I reached, and I’ve done it again.”

Elliott came off the back of a great pre-season a year ago and looked all set for a huge campaign before injury struck.
That set him back somewhat but it seems he has come back with renewed desire this time around and will hope to avoid fitness concerns this year.
Jurgen Klopp does need a goalscoring, dynamic midfielder and Elliott could fill that breach if he progresses as required, and he has started as he means to go on.
