Tottenham Hotspur new boy Rodrigo Bentancur has claimed that he’s really looking forward to working under Antonio Conte.

The midfielder is currently away on international duty with Uruguay and he scored an absolutely incredible goal inside 60 seconds against Venezuela earlier this week. He is expected to arrive in London later today, but he won’t be allowed to train with the squad until he’s granted a work permit. ()

That will likely be sorted out soon and Spurs fans will then be able to see Bentancur in action with the lads.

The Uruguayan, like all the supporters, is really excited to get going too. He has revealed his ambitions at Tottenham and claimed that he can’t wait to work under a winner like Conte.

Bentancur: Tottenham boss Conte is a great coach

The midfielder told : “It’s a great club with great players – always competing in all competitions. I was very happy when I heard about the interest in me and thankfully, I’ve joined now.

“It’s a huge pleasure and an honour to be able to represent this shirt. As I said, it’s a brilliant club and a great league that I’ve always liked and now I’m going to have the chance to enjoy it alongside the other great players that we have.

“I am looking forward to learning from Antonio Conte – I think he’s a great coach. He wants to win and gets 150 per cent out of his players. I think he’ll make me improve even more, both mentally and as a player.

“I like that, and it’s a big motivation for me.”

If there’s one thing that Conte does, he gets 150 per cent out of his players, if not more.

The Italian, as his CV tells us, is a proven winner. He has won league titles in each of his last three clubs and if he gets his way at Tottenham, he could lead Spurs to glory as well in the coming years.

Bentancur is a fantastic signing. Apart from his quality on the pitch, he will bring in a winning mentality. He has won nine senior trophies in his career already, including five league titles.

He could make a massive difference at Tottenham and together with Conte, he could help end Spurs’ trophy drought.
