‘I know what he’s like’: Tottenham’s Matt Doherty fears £21.5m player could snap Heung-Min Son at the World Cup today
Tottenham Hotspur’s Matt Doherty says teammate Rodrigo Bentancur may go in hard on Son Heung-min at the World Cup today.
Bentancur’s Uruguay take on Son’s South Korea in their respective first group stage matches this afternoon in Group H.
Son has been battling with a facial injury ahead of the tournament but looks set to win the race to be fit to lead his country here.
Speaking to about the day of games ahead, Doherty said that Bentancur could easily snap in at his club teammate on the world stage.

He said: “Uruguay-South Korea, Rodrigo and Sonny against each other.
“That will be good to see, especially if they end up anywhere near each other on the pitch! I know what Rodrigo’s like, and he won’t hold back!
“It’s always good to watch the lads play. I don’t get the chance to watch Uruguay too much, so that will be interesting, nice to see Rodrigo play for his country.”
man Bentancur has been flying for Spurs this season, adding goals to his game, which have come at crucial times in recent weeks.
He will be looking to take that form onto the World Cup stage, but Son is also waiting for a defining moment for his country.
They will both be looking to get out of the group as a very minimum, but it is a tough draw, with Portugal and Ghana rounding off the pool.
