‘I had no relationship with Ancelotti’: Former Everton ace claims ex-Blues boss ‘lied’ to him over role
Josh King has lashed out at former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti over ‘lies’.
The Norwegian joined the Blues on a six-month contract in the January transfer window.
He made just 11 appearances in the Premier League, but, never from the start. Everton had the chance to extend the player’s deal at the end of last season, however, opted against the move.
And now, in a bombshell interview, the centre-forward has hit out at his former boss.
King has claimed that he was promised he ‘would get to play’ by Ancelotti upon his move in the winter.
The 29-year-old also went on to say that he didn’t regret his transfer to Merseyside. And that only having failed to take an opportunity, would he regret the move.
When talking about Ancelotti, : ” It’s about the size of the club, the coach and the signals I got. I do not regret that I went to Everton. I did not get the chance, not a single start. Had I got a start and not performed, I would have understood it.”
“Do not trust coaches who promise you things and say you will get the chance, that you will start. But yes, he lied to me. But again; There are not many honest people who work in football. Except for the players, then. I had no relationship with Ancelotti.”

TBR View: King comments highlight fault from Ancelotti during Everton stint
The comments from King highlights a fault made by Ancelotti during his time with Everton.
His time with the Blues have been littered with issues, including in his starting XI.
A lack of rotation was visible during the latter half of last season. The likes of Bernard, Alex Iwobi and King were peripheral figures around the starting XI.
However, given the club ended the season with just six goals in their final eight Premier League games, rotation should’ve been better.
A move for King seemed like a panic buy from the Goodison Park outfit. And it seems as though Ancelotti didn’t favour the player after his use of him last year.
