‘I get hundreds of messages’: Ex-Leeds hero says how fans have treated him after Elland Road exit

Pablo Hernandez has said that he still receives messages of support from Leeds fans after this departing the club summer.

, the 36-year-old midfielder admitted that he is still feeling the love from the Elland Road faithful. Hernandez ended a five-year stint with Leeds to return to Spain in the final years of his career.

The Spanish winger was beloved by the Yorkshire club and was key to their promotion to the Premier League. Hernandez made 175 appearances for Leeds, 16 of which came last campaign in the English top-flight.

Indeed, the veteran playmaker this summer returned to Spain to join third-tier side CD Castellon. The club is where Hernandez came through as a youth player.

And when asked about Leeds, the midfielder revealed that fans of the Premier League side still send him messages of support.

Hernandez said about Leeds fans: “It was five years where I connected very well with the fans. Now that I’ve come home, I continue to receive that affection. And I get hundreds of messages after every game from Leeds fans who follow Castellon.”

With the former Swansea City star beloved at Leeds, it’s no surprise that fans are still supportive of their Hernandez. Indeed, the playmaker will likely continue to have a love for the Yorkshire side for the rest of his life after five years with the Elland Road club.
