‘I gave him his debut’: David Moyes suggests it’s possible West Ham United could move to sign 28-year-old yet
David Moyes has admitted West Ham United could make a late move for Ross Barkley.
: “I would never rule anybody out, I gave him his debut at 16. If it’s not us, I’d wish him as well.”
Moyes and Barkley’s career are intertwined by their time together at Everton.

Barkley’s debut came for Everton against Queens Park Rangers in 2011.
He’s played 18 games under Moyes at Goodison Park, before the Scottish manager moved to Manchester United.
Barkley has been linked with moves to several Premier League sides this summer.
Aston Villa and Newcastle have both considered moves for the 28-year-old.
Moyes says West Ham could make late Barkley move
Signing Ross Barkley has just become slightly easier, after Chelsea terminated his contract.
It was a nightmare transfer for the English international, who never established himself at Stamford Bridge.
Barkley had a loan move to Aston Villa during that time, but struggled with injuries.
West Ham have made plenty of moves in the transfer window already this summer.

Nayef Aguerd and Gianluca Scamacca were Moyes’ major signings before the season began.
He’s just added Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta to his ranks, who plays in a similar role to Barkley.
If the former Everton man was to join West Ham, he would likely be a squad player at best.
Moyes clearly still has a good relationship with Barkley, and making a late move to bring him to West Ham might not be the worst decision.
However, he’s unlikely to improve Moyes’ starting line-up, and may only be relied upon in the Europa Conference League or an injury crisis.
