‘I don’t like’: Moyes shares the one thing he hates saying in front of Declan Rice

West Ham United boss David Moyes and Declan Rice faced the media yesterday ahead of their side’s Europa League clash against Rapid Wien.
Hammers fans have been on cloud nine since the start of last season. They were phenomenal last term and they’ve continued their form to this campaign as well – both in the Premier League as well as in Europe.
Rice, predictably, has been one of West Ham’s best players. Moyes is absolutely delighted with his performances, but he has revealed that he doesn’t like saying one thing in front of him.
Moyes: What I don’t like saying in front of Declan Rice
The Hammers boss said, as per : “He’s such a good player!
“I don’t like saying it in front of him, but he’s arguably one of the best young midfield players in Europe, if not the best. Every time he plays he’s got a responsibility for himself.
“He plays for England. Every time he turns out, he has to play really well. Overall, we’re really happy with Declan and what he does. His performances have been excellent and I hope it continues.”

Rice is among the best
It is still a surprise to many football fans that West Ham haven’t received a mammoth offer from a big club for Rice. The Englishman has been incredible for the Hammers for a few years now, and he was fantastic for England at the Euros as well.
It’s understandable why Moyes wants to keep Rice grounded. However, the 22-year-old should know at this point that he is among the best defensive midfielders in England, if not in Europe.
West Ham have looked good in the league as well as in Europe so far. If they end up having another fine season, big clubs will definitely come in for Rice, who has the quality to improve any side he goes to.
