‘I don’t even like Spurs’…Pundit admits he’s been amazed by impact one Tottenham man has had this season

Anton Ferdinand has admitted that, despite his dislike for Tottenham Hotspur, he cannot help but be amazed by the impact of one Spurs man this season.

After a rocky few weeks, Tottenham appear to have steadied the ship and now find themselves just one point off the top four in the Premier League.

In truth, many Spurs fans probably would have ripped your arm off to be in this position had the offer been made before the campaign began.

Anton Ferdinand amazed by impact Ange Postecoglou has had at Tottenham

It is easy to forget now just what a mess Tottenham were in towards the end of last season. Antonio Conte had left the club. And everyone involved seemed to be desperate for the campaign to come to an end as soon as possible.

But the appointment of Ange Postecoglou has breathed new life back into Tottenham.

Postecoglou would not have been a name many were talking about when Conte left. However, he took no time at all to instil his brand of exhilarating football into his side. And Spurs set the early pace in the opening months of the campaign.

And speaking on , Anton Ferdinand admitted that he cannot help but be impressed by what Postecoglou has done.

“I don’t even like Spurs, let’s put it out there, I don’t like Spurs. However, what Ange has done with this team after losing one of their best ever players, the impact that he had on that team can’t go unrecognised,” he said.

Plenty more to come from Spurs

It is going to be fascinating to see how Spurs build on the first-half of the campaign. Many will now be optimistic that they will kick on when they have all of their key players back.

They certainly play the most exciting football in the Premier League. Guglielmo Vicario has been outstanding, while Destiny Udogie has arguably been the best left-back in the division.

Micky van de Ven has been a revelation. And James Maddison has been one of the players of the season so far. And several others probably deserve a mention, too.
